Truman Middle School fights hunger with new campaign

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Truman Middle School started a campaign called The Real Hunger Games. This is to reflect the idea that the real hunger games is the fight against hunger that millions of America face on a daily basis. The school is now raising funds and collecting food to provide at least 50 Truman families with a full Thanksgiving meal. The school’s counselors are working hard to identify families in need at Truman so that they can help them.

New Mexico is ranked #1 in America in child hunger and #2 in adult hunger. One in every three children in New Mexico don’t have enough food to eat. Over 110,000 people in Bernalillo county live in food insecure households.
