TIJERAS, N.M. (KRQE) – Some middle school students who were struck by a need in their own community are trying to help others this Thanksgiving.

Students at Roosevelt Middle School in Tijeras are holding a food drive. The goal to help under privileged families in the East Mountains. They’ve learned the need in the area, even among fellow students, is great.

Now they’re reaching out in hopes of giving families everything they need for a nice Thanksgiving meal. The students are hoping to put together baskets next week.

They are asking anyone in the community who would like to help fill those baskets and they say they can use all the help they can get.

If you are interested and would like to donate canned goods, turkeys or money contact the Roosevelt Middle School Office at (505)281-3316 ext. 0.

Please make donations to “Thanksgiving Basket”.
