Police: Boy taken from Albuquerque hospital treated in Juarez

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – According to police, the 7-year-old boy who was taken from the University of New Mexico hospital with a central catheter still implanted near his heart, is most likely not in danger.

His father, Jeffery Brown, took him out of the hospital after becoming upset with medical staff. Doctors said the catheter could be life threatening without proper care or removal.

Friday afternoon UNM Police heard from Joshua Brown’s grandfather who provided documentation from a medical facility in Juarez.

Believing the boy could be in danger, UNM Police had filed a warrant on Thursday for the arrest of the father. Now the DA wants to confirm the boy is with his dad and safe.
