Man accused of shooting Albuquerque officer appears in federal court

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man who shot and injured Albuquerque Police Department Officer Lou Golson during a traffic stop earlier this year was in federal court Monday.

Christopher Cook is charged with violating federal firearms laws and is being prosecuted as one of the worst of the worst offenders. Cook cut a deal this summer for shooting Officer Golson that will send him to prison for 20 years.

He is facing 30 years on those federal charges.
