BioPark Zoo Boo draws huge crowd

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- Little superheroes, princesses and some adorable animals, all flocked to the BioPark Zoo Saturday, to take part in the Zoo Boo celebrations.

“It’s fun to see the animals and kids and other people are looking at you with your costume,” said Nataly Leon.

There was trick or treating throughout the zoo along with lots of fun games and activities, like hula hooping, a kanga roo toss and even bobbing for apples. After all of that, families also got the chance to check out the animals. Many say this event is the perfect atmosphere for a child-safe celebration.

“It’s really a good family event, I bring my nieces and nephews here all the time, it’s safe, it’s fun, and you get to see the animals,” said Elaouise Victoriano.

There was also a costume contest, with prizes for funniest, scariest, an adult category and even a family award.

“We as a family will dress alike, so we’ll pick a theme and we all get together, and start doing the makeup and try to get our children to do the same thing,” said Ramon Quintana.

Zoo officials say the event is their busiest of the year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
