Man wanted in New Mexico fatal shooting in custody

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A man wanted in a 2013 fatal shooting in New Mexico has been arrested in Mexico.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Pedro Duenas-Madruga was found hiding in Cancun and taken into custody last Friday.

Federal authorities say Duenas-Madruga has been returned to the U.S. and currently is in custody in Houston, Texas as he awaits extradition to New Mexico.

Authorities say Duenas-Mardruga was wanted in connection with the death of Kevin Swinehart, who was shot in Albuquerque two years ago.
