Artesia Police find suspect in purse snatching

Artesia Purse Snatch

ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) – After following up on leads in a violent purse snatching in Artesia, police believe they know who the suspect is.

A woman was walking into work at Yates Petroleum last week when a man in a hoodie approached her. The man tased her and then took off with her purse.

Police were able to identify the getaway car and a house connected to the crime. Police searched both and came up with a suspect. However, at this point they are not identifying him.

Police say he is already behind bars on unrelated charges and is expected to be questioned about the purse snatching Tuesday.
