BCBS of New Mexico donates money for new local playground

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico donated nearly $90,000 for a playground to be built at the Sundowner Apartment complex in Albuquerque. Volunteers from Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Sundowner Apartments and the community joined in together to build this playground in 6 hours this past weekend. To help explain how this all happened is Janice Torrez from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico and John Bloomfield from New Life Homes joined us with more on the whole process.

The entire project was completed in just six hours this past weekend. This was a collaboration effort made by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Kaboom, and other community partners. However, children are behind the designs you see. This project is sure to impact the community positively in more ways than one.
