Albuquerque officer faces massive medical bills

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque officer who was nearly killed by a drunk driver is now left with huge medical bills.

In March of last year, Aviation Officer Bobby Dilley was driving home from work on I-40 when he was hit by Michelle Rivera. The crash sent his jeep rolling, crushing him and then dragging him for 200 feet.

Dilley suffered severe injuries including losing half of his foot.

Rivera did not have insurance, leaving the officer and his family with massive medical bills.

Officer Dilley says he is not giving up, despite the circumstances.

“This has devastated me physically, emotionally and financially and instead of just giving up I’m working harder,” said Officer Dilley.

Rivera is serving a two-year sentence for the crash.
