New Mexico Supreme Court vacancy attracts 8 applicants


SANTA FE (AP) – New Mexico officials will soon meet to consider replacements for retiring state Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Bosson.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that the Judicial Nominating Commission will meet Oct. 19 to consider applicants for the court vacancy.

Bosson is himself a member of the commission that will decide his replacement.

A Friday news release from the commission listed the names of eight applicants for the position. They are: appeals court judge Michael E. Vigil, appeals court judge Linda M. Vanzi, Albuquerque state district judge Judith K. Nakamura, 5th Judicial District judge Gary L. Clingman, Albuquerque district judge Samuel L. Winder, district attorney for the 12th Judicial District Diana Martwick and Santa Fe lawyers Paul W.
