Explora demonstrates “Cool Science”

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Science isn’t always the most popular subject, but there’s one museum trying to change that.

Explora, a museum described as part science center and part kids museum, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to demonstrate a fun science experiment themed Cool Science.

This week, the experiment was creating a fountain in a flask.

Vacuum, vapor, and pressure…what happens when you mix these elements in a controlled environment? Eric Meyer and Randy Pedro demonstrated this. Watch above to see the creation of a colorful water fountain inside a flask using boiling water, food coloring, a beaker, and tubing.

Explora isn’t just for the kiddos, either. They are hosting Parents Night Out: Spooky Science. This is Friday, October 23 from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Parents can enjoy a night out while their child has a great evening at Explora. Dinner and activities included in price. Reservation deadline is Wed. Oct. 21.
