Durango and Silverton Railroad offering Christmas tree train transportation

Durango Silverton Train

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – It is now possible to take a train to get a Christmas tree.

The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will offer a Christmas tree train for those who want to cut their own tree but don’t want to drive the back country roads to get there.

Hand saws will be provided and the trees will be loaded into a special box car for the return ride home. Riders will have to pay the regular tree permit cost of $8 in addition to the regular winter train fare.

The railroad will offer the service on Fridays and Saturdays in December.
