Albuquerque’s water safety mascot officially named

leroyo

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The City’s water safety has named its mascot Leroyo.

The Ditch and Water Safety task force says they looked at more than 200 entries in its month-long contest.

Jennifer Strand submitted the winning name. She won a $200 gift card.

Leroyo has a busy schedule. The mascot is teaching children across Albuquerque about staying away from arroyos and ditches, especially during monsoon season.
