ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police are trying to locate a man who may have staged his disappearance.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department 22-year-old Eduardo Ramirez-Llamas has been missing since September 21st.

Ramirez-Llamas was arrested after a home invasion turned deadly on September 7th.  He was arrested and charged after he and three other men kicked in the door of an apartment in the 4600 block of Gibson in an attempt to rob the resident.

Police say the resident opened fire after the men shot at him and killed two of them. Ramirez-Llamas got away, changed clothes and pretended to be a witness but was later arrested. The fourth man was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound police say.

Police say they are not sure if Ramirez-Llamas is truly missing or if he staged his disappearance to avoid prosecution.
