ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A World War II veteran was honored for his service Friday morning.

U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich presented the medals to Marlin Templeton after thanking him for his service.

Templeton received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Honorable Service Lapel Button for WWII.

He says the flag was worth fighting for and it always will be.
