ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – Deputies arrested a Rio Arriba County employee for allegedly driving while on heroin.
According to the criminal complaint, someone reported 33-year-old Carlos Trujillo for driving recklessly. When deputies found him they say he was parked behind a trailer in Espanola and had fresh injection marks on his arms. Trujillo told the deputy he used heroin that morning as well as Xanax.
Trujillo is the public information officer for the county. No word on the status of his employment.
Trujillo was the campaign manager for Representative Ben Ray Lujan in 2008.
Online court records show Trujillo was convicted of DWI back in 2012.
