Heavy rain will continue at least for the start of Thursday in southeastern New Mexico. The storm system responsible for the scattered rain and storms is starting to dive farther to our south and west. So drier air will start to work into northern and central New Mexico this afternoon leaving the best shot at rain to the southern half of the state. Spot showers will be possible for southern NM again on Friday before a big area of high pressure starts to build over the region for the weekend. This high will bring dry conditions and temperatures that will be at average or even above normal by the end of the weekend. So the final days of Balloon Fiesta are looking good at this point.
