Judge rules Santa Fe cannot ban mini liquor bottles

SANTA FE (KRQE) – According to a judge, the City of Santa Fe overstepped when it banned the sale of miniature liquor bottles.

A judge ruled on Tuesday that liquor laws can only be decided by the state.

Back in April, the city council voted to ban the sale of alcohol in eight ounce bottles or less.

Supporters said it would cut down on city litter. Opponents said it would have hurt small businesses.
