Bernalillo police arrest man after standoff

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Bernalillo Police have arrested a man after a standoff.

On Tuesday, police were on the scene near the southern end of South Hill Road at the far end of southern Bernalillo.

According to police, 38-year-old Oscar Anchondo was arrested on Tuesday.

APD has seen this man before. Last week, Anchondo carjacked someone near Louisiana and Lomas. Police tracked down the car and later believed to have cornered him in a trailer park. However, police found Anchondo was not inside.

APD believes he could be responsible for at least three carjacking’s and three armed robberies in the last week.
