Early morning fire displaces 3 Albuquerque families

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Approximately 3 a.m. Saturday morning the Albuquerque Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 419 Vassar Drive SE.

When firefighters arrived they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a multi-family apartment complex.

AFD units made a quick attack on the fire and had it extinguished within 12 to 15 minutes.

Three families were displaced because of the heavy water and smoke damage to the apartments.

There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire is unknown. The fire is under investigation at this time.
