Water main break floods northwest Albuquerque neighborhood

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Crews are working to a repair a water main break that’s flooding a neighborhood in northwest Albuquerque near 2nd Street and Griegos.

The city says about 30 homes between 6th and 9th are expected to be without water for a while.

Right now water is gushing into people’s yards but there have been no reports of homes flooding. A neighbor said they’ve seen possible sinkholes in the area.

The city says the break itself should be patched up in an hour or two, but road repairs will take more time.
