Kristen’s Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

The September heat continues...

TUESDAY: Another warm and sunny day for most as high pressure continues to stay in control. Afternoon temperatures will soar well above average with most topping out in the 80s and 90s. The current record for this day stands at 90 degrees (last set in 2010) at the Albuquerque Sunport… today’s forecast high for Albuquerque is 90 degrees (needless to say, we’ll be close). A cold front to the north will sink south over the Northeastern Plains, helping to trigger a few spotty storms over the Northern Mountains and northeast corner of the state. It is possible that a few storms turn strong to severe – main threat: gusty winds, small hail and brief, heavy rain.

WEDNESDAY: Another day of sunshine and warm temps with little to no significant rain expected within statelines. Expect afternoon temperatures to top out in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
