Evacuation lifted at Hoover Middle School after possible electrical fire

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque Public Schools officials say a possible electrical fire prompted the evacuation of Hoover Middle School Tuesday.

It happened around 11:40 a.m. School Officials say teachers reported a burning smell in the teachers lounge and and later saw smoke.

That is when the fire alarm was pulled and the school was evacuated according to Hoover Middle School Principal Robert B. Abney.

The Albuquerque Fire Department arrived and investigated. They gave the all clear at about 12:25 p.m. and said the smoke was coming from a swamp cooler.
