Kristen’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Near-record heat to start the week...

MONDAY: We’ll kick off the new work week with a good amount of sunshine and above average temps. A few pop up storms are possible in and along the Northern Mountains, however, coverage will be extremely limited – most of us can expect mostly sunny conditions. Afternoon temperatures will soar well above average with most of us topping out in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The current record at the Albuquerque International Airport for this day in history is 89 degrees — today’s forecast calls for Duke City temps to tie, and perhaps even surpass, the current record last set back in 1998.

TUESDAY: A cold front will edge in over the northeast, helping to fire off a few spotty to scattered storms over the Northern Mountains and Northeast Plains. However, this front will have little to no impact over central and western NM — sunshine and above average temps can be expected for another day.
