John’s Monday Evening Forecast

A sunny and warm workweek...

Sunshine will dominate the forecast throughout much of the workweek. Afternoon highs will remain well above average with some areas possibly setting new records. A weak backdoor cold front will edge into the northeast Tuesday. That will likely result in a storm or two, especially for Colfax and Union counties.

Big changes move in for the end of the week. A storm system will drop into Colorado late Friday. Most of the showers will impact Colorado. Being south of the storm system, New Mexico will see increasing winds late Friday through the weekend. This will be something to watch for the opening weekend of Balloon Fiesta. Saturday morning could be a close situation, but right now the winds are not looking good for Sunday morning.
