ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque Police Department officer is recovering after a rough foot chase.

It started around nine Tuesday night when officers noticed a red car swerving near Central and 57th. When they stopped the car a woman in the back claimed she’d been kidnapped, at that point driver fled on foot. The officer chased the driver, hurting his leg in the process.

Police say the woman took back her kidnapping claims and is charged with false reporting.

At this time, there is no word on charges for the driver.
