Graphic anti-abortion ads show up in mailboxes

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque group that’s caused controversy with its graphic anti-abortion ads is getting involved in a city council race.

People have been receiving mailers slamming Democratic City Council Candidate Pat Davis for his stance on abortion. The mailer shows graphic images of a fetus and a woman.

The mailer says it was paid for by Protest ABQ, a group tied to activists Bud and Tara Shaver.

The couple were the ones behind a similarly graphic billboard truck around the city two years ago pushing for a late term abortion ban.

Davis is running against Republican Hessito Yntema and UNM student Samuel Kerwin. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
