Pedestrian stuck, killed after woman drives on sidewalk

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police say a person was killed overnight when a woman started driving on the sidewalk in downtown Albuquerque. Police say their investigation started near Silver and Third Street. That’s where the female driver smashed into a few parked cars. She then jumped a curbed and slammed into someone at the greyhound bus station just before midnight.

The identity of the victim has not been released. Police took the driver to the hospital for multiple tests however; they don’t believe alcohol is a factor. The driver appears to have suffered a medical episode and lost control of the car.

The driver is in critical condition.

The names have not been released.
