Albuquerque man convicted for seeking sex with 13-year-old

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque jury found Adam Kerns guilty of Child Solicitation by an Electronic Communication Device, a third degree felony offense.

Kerns engaged in sexual communication for a week with an undercover detective who was posing as a child.

Kerns showed up to meet the perceived child with condoms and confessed to sending sexual text messages to someone he believed to be 13-years-old.

“We only get one shot at protecting our children and we will continue to prosecute high risk criminals who use the internet to prey on our children,” said Attorney General Hector Balderas.

Kern faces up to three years in prison and sex offender registration for a period of ten years. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
