SANTA FE (KRQE) – A record-setting crowd burned their troubles away when Zozobra went up in flames last week. Organizers say the rain wasn’t enough to keep people away and 48,000 people attended the event. That’s up 5,000 from last year.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, organizers counted the crowd with a remote-controlled drone and software that can estimate the crowd’s size.
The director says while umbrellas threw off some calculations, they’re confident the numbers have been adjusted accurately.
