Governor proposes internship site for college students

ALBQUERQUE (KRQE) – The governor is proposing a new program to help college students gain more real-world experience.

It’s called “Students Work” and it’s a part of a new initiative to better prepare them for life after graduation. The online portal would connect students with employers through internships in one centralized location.

“Here, we’re going to put all our eggs in one basket say here this is how we’re going to do it. Everybody looks into this portal and you’re able to then look for something that works for you,” said Governor Susana Martinez.

All New Mexico college students will have free access to the site. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
