Firefighters save woman being sexually assaulted

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police say fellow first responders stepped in to help a woman being attacked outside a fire station.

According to a criminal complaint, Stewart Johnson, 41, brutally attacked a woman in Coronado Park near Fire Station #4 on Thursday, throwing her to the ground.

Firefighters heard the woman screaming and were able to stop Johnson as he was undressing her. The firefighters made sure Johnson didn’t get away until police arrived.

Johnson is now charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery and Assault.
