Rotary Club of Albuquerque celebrates 100 years

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – In celebration of the club’s centennial, The Rotary Club of Albuquerque has just announced that it is seeking nominations for its “Centennial Celebration of Service Above Self” Awards.

The Club, which has been a staple of the Albuquerque community since its inception in 1916, will recognize volunteer service to the community with one-time awards to five living New Mexicans (individuals or groups) in the following categories: First Responders, Military, Community, Youth and a Rotarian within District 5520. Awards will be presented to those who have demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service, in any form and at any level, with an emphasis on personal volunteer efforts and active involvement in helping others in their community, state or abroad. Service rendered by the nominee can be on an ongoing basis or through a singular act of humanitarianism.

The Rotary Club of Albuquerque Service Above Self Award is a competitive award granted to a maximum of 5 recipients state wide who are examples of Service Above Self.  Nominees will be selected in five categories: First Responders, Military, Community, Youth, Ages 10-18 and a Rotarian within district 5520 (the Rotarian nominees will be reviewed by non-Rotarian selection committee).

The Rotary Club of Albuquerque must receive nominations by October 23, 2015
