Police identify suspect in northeast Albuquerque attack

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police were on scene of a possible shooting in the area of Montgomery and Carlisle.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Carlisle NE around 7:30 Wednesday morning.  There they found a man suffering from numerous wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and underwent surgery.

Officers say they have identified 30-year-old Deven Wallace as a suspect. Officials are currently searching for Wallace; there is a warrant for aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm out for his arrest. Authorities say Wallace is a five-foot-six African-American man with brown hair and eyes.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. They say the victim is still in critical condition.

Police say anyone with information should contact authorities.
