ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man who killed a CNM student took a plea deal Wednesday and was sentenced to 33 years behind bars.

Emilio Marquez shot and killed Jared Clark in June after selling him drugs and stealing his Mustang. Through that investigation it was revealed Marquez had been tied to several other violent crimes.

Wednesday’s plea covers four of those felony cases, including Clark’s murder. Marquez had faced more than 100 years in prison if he had gone to trial and was convicted. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
