Vehicle fire blocks lanes on I-40 at Juan Tabo

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A single vehicle fire blocked the two left lanes on I-40 at Juan Tabo Tuesday night. Officials say a transmission malfunction started the fire. No injuries were reported.

‘Longmire’ season four trailer released

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The “Longmire” trailer for season four was recently released. The show will debut September 10 on Netflix. The streaming service picked it up after it was canceled by A&E last fall. “Longmire” is set in Wyoming but is primarily filmed in northern New Mexico. The first three seasons are being streamed on Netflix.

New Mexico hunting season begins Tuesday

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Tuesday opens with a bang for some New Mexicans. It’s the beginning of hunting season. Game and Fish officials are expecting 30,000 elk hunters and 27,000 deer hunters this season. Officials are warning hikers and bikers to wear bright clothing while using back-country roads and trails.

Wise Pies sponsoring state fair kid zone

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Wise Pies is coming to the state fair. The pizzeria has announced it’s sponsoring the state fair kid zone. It’s a paid sponsorship but the state isn’t saying how much money they’re paying. Wise Pies has been working hard to get its name out there since its launch. The company is paying $5 million over 10 years to rename the Pit, Wise Pies arena.

San Juan County Commissioners to meet Tuesday on oil export ban

SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – San Juan County Commissioners are meeting Tuesday to send a message to the federal government concerning a ban on oil exports. If the government overturns the decades-old ban it would create about 3,700 jobs and about $640 million by 2020, according to a new study that commissioners are examining. The U.S. banned exports in the 1970s to protect the country’s oil supply.
