New Mexico Autism Society raises funds with a rock-a-billy style

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – From a car show to a run-way, there’s one event that has something for everyone and is for a great cause.

The New Mexico Autism Society is hosting a fun event in efforts to raise awareness and funds for kids with the disorder.

This Rockabilly themed night offers guest and endless amount of fun activities starting off with their Rock-Ability Car show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For those interested in participating, they can register their car on call 505-332-0306 or show up at 9:30 at Keshet Center for the Arts.

For the fashionistas, Project Connect 3 has local designers and seamstresses that will be using up to 2 yards of puzzle piece fabric that are being crafted into “one-of-a-kind” Rockabilly inspired fashions.

Also, there will be a fashion show with 40s and 50s inspired fashion and this year they have added male categories that include Bad, Preppy, and Steam Punk Boy.

The show will be held Saturday August 29, 2015. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. The show will conclude with a live auction at 9 p.m.
