Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

A soggy finish to the month of August...

THURSDAY: Pockets of light rain are pushing northeast across central and northern NM this morning, with mostly to partly cloudy conditions filling in over the entire state. Another round of scattered to widespread showers and storms will fire up over the southwestern corner of the state, stretching through central NM and into the Northeastern Plains. Stronger storms will pack in frequent lightning, small hail and heavy rain – we’ll let you know if any advisories and/or warnings are issued. Afternoon temperatures will be similar to Wednesday with 70s, 80s and 90s returning statewide.

FRIDAY: An incoming cold front will help the Eastern Plains get in on the rain action, with more spotty to scattered showers likely over central and southern NM as well. Storms will fire along the boundary and follow it as it pushes west across the state. Afternoon temperatures will be near average across most of the region.
