EPA reveals officials underestimated water pressure before mine spill


ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – More details released by the EPA about the Gold King Mine spill. Wednesday they revealed they underestimated the water pressure that had built up inside and while they knew a blowout was possible had no emergency plan to deal with it.

Thursday the EPA released a detailed timeline of the spill it showed the public was not alerted until more than 12 hours after the spill at 11:30 at night.

The next morning many awoke to realize what a serious situation it was.
