Albuquerque DEA informant pleads guilty to murder, molestation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man pleaded guilty Thursday to second degree murder and molestation charges.

Edward Quintana molested a six-year-old boy then killed the boy’s father last year. Quintana shot Jason Estrada after Estrada confronted him about molesting his son.

Quintana will now serve 21 years in prison.

Quintana was a confidential informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration at the time of the killing.

The victim’s family is now suing the agency and the department of justice.
