Space commerce leaders to talk about the future of the New Mexico Spaceport

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Representatives of Virgin Galactic and Spaceport America will give insight on the future of the New Mexico Spaceport in September.

George Whitesides, the leader of Virgin Galactic, and Christine Anderson, the CEO of Spaceport America are speaking in Albuquerque to the Chamber of Commerce. They’re talking not only about the future of the spaceport but future of the commercial space industry as a whole.

Spaceport America is still sitting mostly empty awaiting space flights on Virgin Galactic ships. Virgin Galactic has yet to release a solid date on when their program will be up and running. A recent crash set the program back significantly.
