Moisture will continue to increase across the state through the weekend. This will lead to a better crop of afternoon thunderstorms Saturday and especially Sunday. The areas with the best chance for widespread rain will be western and central New Mexico. Not only will we get moisture from the south but will also get a backdoor cold front to help to add juice to the state. By the beginning of next week the moisture will begin to thin out a bit. High-pressure sets up over the state and that will help to reduce storms by Wednesday.
