Hugh Greenwood trades hoops for football

Hugh Greenwood

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Hugh Greenwood is following his grandfathers lead. The former Lobo basketball player walked out on his contract with Australia’s professional basketball team, the Perth Wildcats, to pursue a career in the Australian Football League. Greenwood’s grandfather was an AFL legend.

Greenwood was in the first month of a three year deal with the Perth Wildcats basketball team and has yet to sign his AFL contract. Greenwood is all set to join the Adelaide Crows. Adelaide would not comment about Greenwood. Meanwhile, Wildcats managing director Nick Marvin said Greenwood’s departure left a big void to fill less than two months from the start of the new season.
