16-year-old arrested as third suspect in Chavez-Silver murder

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque police arrested the third suspect in the Manzano High School student’s murder Friday.

16-year-old Nicholas Gonzales was already in custody on unrelated charges. He was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on an open count of murder, child abuse resulting in death, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting from a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit a first or second degree felony.

Christopher Cruz and Donovan Maez are both charged with an open count of murder in Chavez-Silver’s death as well.
