MONDAY: Afternoon temperatures will soar well above average once again – expect 80s and 90s across the state (slightly cooler in the 70s for parts of the higher terrain). Spotty to scattered storms are likely to fire up along and east of the Central Mountains this afternoon with the possibility of strong to severe storms developing over the Northern Mountains and Northeastern Plains. High pressure to the west of the state will pump drier air into western NM – limiting storm chances west of the Continental Divide.
TUESDAY: Hot temperatures will continue to take hold of the forecast with 80s, 90s and triple digits expected across the state. A few lingering storms are likely to pop up over the northeastern corner while the rest of us stay dry under a mostly sunny sky.
