After a day of widespread thunderstorms on Monday, things will begin to change Tuesday. High pressure will slide from Texas over New Mexico and shut down the moisture supply. The result will be fewer and fewer storms each afternoon with warmer and warmer temperatures.
By Thursday, the big story will be the heat underneath the high. We will top out in the mid 90s in the metro area and likely be well over 100 degrees around Roswell. The high will weaken by the weekend allowing more moisture into the state fueling afternoon thunderstorms.
