Police: Person killed by train in northwest Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police have Lomas at the railroad tracks shut down in both directions in reference to an individual being hit by a train.

Investigators say an individual stepped in front of an Amtrak train and was killed instantly.

This happened at Lomas and the railroad tracks around 12:30 p.m.

Lomas will be closed in both directions at while officers and NTSB agents investigate the scene.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
