John’s Thursday Afternoon Forecast

Moisture slowly returns by the weekend...

The heat continues for much of New Mexico this afternoon. Very similar to yesterday, this afternoon will feature spot showers and storms forming primarily over the high terrain. The southeast will soar well into the triple digits as Albuquerque hits the upper 90s to near 100°.

After another hot day Friday, enough moisture will start to work in to improve shower and storm chances across the north and west over the weekend. With more moisture around, temperatures will start to retreat as well. One exception will be the southeast, where triple digit heat will remain through the weekend. Eventually temperatures there will start to fall early next week as the ridge of high pressure moves farther east.
