Albuquerque restaurant brings something new to the table

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- Local, fresh and organic is exactly what a new restaurant in Albuquerque is bringing to the table.

The Shop, a breakfast and lunch restaurant, offers American classics with Latin American and Creole influences where most of their vegetables and meat come from farms in the valley and state. Dishes are prepared fresh and made completely in house; employees can tell you everything that went in to making that plate.

“I believe you have to put yourself in your food or any craft in order to really make something special. I think we do a good job of that, making food you can really only find here.” said Israel Rivera, The Shop’s owner and chef.

Another specialty the eatery provides is coffee.

“Iconic Coffee Roasters have the best coffee available in the state as far as I am concerned, and they really focus on direct trade with the farmers so they get the best beans,” Rivera said.

Rivera joined the KRQE This Morning team to demonstrate his famous Macaroni and Cheese plate.
