Paradise Hills Little League heads to Texas

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)– Paradise Hills Little League Major’s All-Star team is headed to the Southwest Regional tournament in Waco, Texas. They hope to be the first team from New Mexico to make it to the Little League World Series since Roswell in 1956.

“This age group gets to go all the way to the Disney Land of baseball and that’s the Little League World Series. Obviously we have a stop in Waco, and there’s big, big game, big, big tournament and big, big, big players out there. We are excited about the competition and excited about getting out there and getting it on,” said Head Coach Patrick Garcia.

This team has played together for over four years. They are really close and feel like that will be a big help in Waco.

“I describe them as a band of brothers. We all like each other. Nobody has any problems with anybody. We are all perfectly banded together”, said player Connor Griego.

They leave for the double elimination tournament in Waco on Wednesday morning, and will play Mississippi on Friday.

How You Can Help

It’s going to cost close to $3,000 per player to get them to Waco Texas, so the team has started a GoFundMe account.
